When is a dental implant the right solution?
Implants represent the most effective technology for replacing a missing tooth without the need to interfere with the remaining tooth. They are used to replace lost single teeth, as well as when multiple or all teeth are lost, as pillars under fixed or removable dentures. Implants are anchor pillars inserted into the jawbone in place of the missing root of the original tooth. They are made primarily of titanium, which is suitable for use in the human body, and are fixed in the bone to provide a stable base for the new tooth.
What is a new tooth made of?
Titanium screw – the implant itself, which is inserted directly into the jawbone. It replaces the lost tooth root and is not visible. In our clinics, we use dental implants with a special coating that is bioactive, hydrophilic and nanostructured. This so-called BIO surface accelerates the formation of a functional bone-implant interface and provides the implant with increasing secondary stability in the earliest stages of healing. This significantly reduces the healing time and enables safe early loading.
Cover screw (abutment) – a small screw that covers the entrance to the internal thread of the implant. It is the link between the implant itself and the crown restoration, which is custom-made for each patient. It is visible during the healing phase.
Dental crown, bridge or removable restoration – is a visible, functional and aesthetic replacement of one or more lost teeth indistinguishable from the actual teeth.
